Jennifer Coppen Sees Instagram Followers Surge After Indonesia Wins FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

Share:

Indonesian influencer Jennifer Coppen has seen her Instagram following rise to 8.8 million after Indonesia won the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. The increase came amid heightened public attention towards the national football team and its players’ families, including Coppen, who is married to Indonesian defender Justin Hubner.

Coppen shared her excitement over the milestone on Instagram Stories, thanking her followers for their continued support. According to reports, her account had reached 8.7 million followers just a day earlier before climbing to 8.8 million.

The growth followed Indonesia’s dramatic victory over Thailand in the tournament final on 5 October 2026. Indonesia secured the title after a 2-2 draw, winning 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out.

Jennifer Coppen Faces Backlash From Malaysian Netizens

The increase in followers also came shortly after Coppen became involved in an online dispute with Malaysian netizens over comments related to football.

In an interview reported by CNN Indonesia on 4 October, Coppen spoke about the backlash she had received following a sarcastic remark about Malaysia’s national football team. What began as a joke in response to a TikTok comment escalated into a wider exchange with social media users.

Coppen said she was accustomed to receiving criticism online but objected to her young daughter, Kamari, being targeted in the dispute. She questioned why adults would involve a child in an argument between grown-ups.

She also clarified that she had not intended to insult or offend anyone with her original comment. She expressed regret if her words had hurt people while saying she was willing to forgive those who had directed insults at her family.

Coppen Continues to Show Support for Justin Hubner

As the wife of Indonesian footballer Justin Hubner, Coppen has regularly shared her support for her husband and the national team.

Before the final, she expressed confidence in Indonesia’s chances and pride in the players’ efforts. She also said she was ready to cook whatever Hubner wanted if he performed well in the decisive match.

Following Indonesia’s victory, Coppen celebrated the achievement and reiterated her pride in her husband. The win brought widespread attention to the national team, with supporters also engaging with the social media accounts of players and their families.

The rise in Coppen’s Instagram following reflects the increased online interest surrounding Indonesia’s football success. However, the reported increase in followers and the online dispute are separate developments that unfolded around the same period.

With 8.8 million followers, Coppen remains a prominent figure in Indonesia’s entertainment and social media scene, where her personal life and support for Hubner continue to attract public attention.
