The Jakarta Light Festival Christmas Edition 2025 is scheduled to take place at the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI) in Central Jakarta from 23 to 27 December 2025. The event will run for five consecutive evenings, from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm WIB.

Information about the festival was shared through the official Instagram account of the Jakarta Provincial Government, @dkijakarta, and the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, @disparekrafdki.

The Bundaran HI will serve as the main location for the light festival. The event area will feature Christmas-themed lighting installations and decorative elements positioned around the landmark traffic circle.

One of the main attractions of the Jakarta Light Festival is a video mapping display. Light projections will be shown on surrounding structures at the Bundaran HI during the event hours. The visual presentation is designed as part of the Christmas Edition programme for the end-of-year period.

Christmas decorations have also been installed throughout the area. Decorative elements include illuminated ornaments and seasonal designs intended to mark the Christmas period in the city’s public spaces.

In addition to the lighting displays, Christmas carols will be played during the event. The music will accompany the evening programme and form part of the overall festival atmosphere at the Bundaran HI.

Christmas Carol Event and City Hall Decorations Mark the Holiday Season

Alongside the Jakarta Light Festival, the Jakarta Provincial Government is also holding Christmas Carol Colossal Vol. 2. The event will take place on Tuesday evening, 23 December 2025, on the pedestrian path in front of FX Sudirman.

Details of the Christmas Carol event were announced through the official Instagram account @dkijakarta. According to the post, the event will begin at 6.00 pm WIB.

The Christmas Carol Colossal Vol. 2 is expected to involve approximately 1,200 singers. The performers will take part in a mass singing session featuring Christmas songs. The Provincial Government has invited residents to attend the event with their families.

The carol performance is part of the city’s Christmas celebrations and will take place in a public space along Sudirman, one of Jakarta’s main thoroughfares.

Meanwhile, Christmas decorations have also been installed at Jakarta City Hall ahead of the 25 December 2025 celebrations. Observations on site on 18 December 2025 showed that the City Hall terrace had been decorated with seasonal ornaments.

Large pillars on the terrace were covered with maroon fabric and decorated with green foliage, red floral arrangements, and ribbon ornaments at the top. Potted red and green plants were placed at the base of the pillars.

Additional greenery was arranged along the corners of the terrace. Gold lantern ornaments were also installed, complementing the white marble flooring of the building.

The decorations form part of the city’s official preparations for Christmas and are intended to mark the holiday season at Jakarta City Hall, which serves as the administrative centre of the provincial government.
