What Is Jakarta Fair 2025?

The Jakarta Fair, officially known as Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ), returns for its 56th edition in 2025. Taking place at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, this international-scale event will run for 25 days, from 19 June to 13 July 2025. The theme for this year is “Supporting Advanced Indonesia through Innovation and Sustainable National Work.”

Jakarta Fair Kemayoran is recognised as the largest and longest-running multi-product exhibition in Southeast Asia. More than just a trade event, it is a cultural and entertainment festival that reflects Indonesia’s economic and social development.

History and Development of Jakarta Fair

Jakarta Fair has its origins in Pasar Gambir, a colonial-era market event held in Batavia (now Jakarta) in the late 19th century. The modern version of Jakarta Fair was established in 1968 by then, Governor Ali Sadikin,  as a way to support local industries after the political upheaval of the 1960s.

Initially held in the Monas area, the event became a fixed annual event aligned with Jakarta’s anniversary on 22 June. It has since grown into a prominent platform for both large industries and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products.
