Indonesia vs Yemen scored 1-1 in the last match of Group F of the 2025 U20 Asian Cup qualifiers at the Madya Stadium on Sunday night, September 29, 2024. This result ensures Garuda Muda’s position as group winner and qualification.

Both teams scored in first-half injury time. One additional point is enough for Indonesia to qualify for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup in China next February. The event will be the Indonesian team’s 20th appearance.

Yemen started the match with an onslaught that surprised the Indonesian U-20 national team players. Anwar Hussein and his friends tried to press so as to make the Garuda Nusantara Squad uncomfortable playing.

Both teams bought and sold attacks from the start. However, the same score, 0-0, lasted until the 30th minute.

Indra Sjafri’s U20 Indonesia national team took the lead via Jens Raven’s right-footed shot at the end of the first half. The right-footed shot of the man of Yogyakarta descent in the 45+1 minute hit the post before entering the Yemen goal. The goal stemmed from an Indonesian attack through the right side of the attack.

In addition, Jens Raven, who was alone in the penalty box, could keep the ball sent to him well.

However, not long after, Yemen were able to reply via Abdulrahman Al Khadher (45+3). He was able to find shooting space after not getting significant blocks from the Indonesian U20 national team players. Both teams shared a 1-1 score in the first half.

Indonesia vs Yemen Score Draw 1-1 Lasts in the Second Half

Yemen stepped on the gas again at the start of the second half. They repeatedly pressed and tried to threaten the Indonesian goal, even controlling the ball from foot to foot.

Jens Raven had another golden opportunity in the 54th minute, but opposing players thwarted his action. The ball left the field of play.

With their physicality increasingly depleted, Indonesia can reduce Yemen, which is still trying to steal victory. The draw score lasted until the party was over.

The Indonesian U-20 national team qualified for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup as group F champions with 7 points from 2 wins and one draw. The Indonesian squad collected the same points from Yemen but were superior in goal difference.
