The event, which takes the theme Local Wisdom for Global Sustainability, projects to encourage the positioning of Indonesia’s wellness industry in the world wellness map.

Raising the power of traditions that are authentic, diverse, and still alive in people’s daily lives as a living culture is the main purpose of the whole run of the SME program.

“Wellness is one of the strong potentials of Indonesia’s domestic excellence, not only because of the abundant raw material commodities, but also the narrative of a very strong cultural tradition. We must support this together,” said Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki in his textual statement in Jakarta, Thursday.

Furthermore, Teten said that his party fully supports the IWI initiative and is very confident in the potential of this industry in the country.

Meanwhile, IWI Chairman Paulus Mintarga said that this activity will not only be a showcase and display of Indonesian wellness products and experiences, but also a gathering and networking event between hundreds of Indonesian wellness industry stakeholders.

“We will also present speakers both domestically and from global wellness players at the Intimate Networking Session, sharing trends and news from the world wellness industry,” he said.

At this event, the Javanese and Balinese Wellness Traditions will be presented with various interesting products and experiences. A therapy called Pratiti in Balinese tradition and belief, and Javanese dance-based yoga called Bheksan, will be the main spotlight. There would as well be various other literacies.

The series of events will end with the Bali Declaration. The declaration contains a vision for the development of this industry in Indonesia and the world according to the 10 Bali principles.
