A foreign national has been left in critical condition after being struck by a car while attempting to cross a busy road in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta on Monday evening (22/06/2026).
The incident occurred on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, one of the capital’s main thoroughfares, and was later widely shared on social media through footage circulating online.
According to information posted by the Instagram account @jabodetabek24info on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, the victim was involved in a traffic accident on Monday evening.
“A foreign national (WNA) was involved in a traffic accident on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Monday (June 22nd) evening,” the account wrote.
Reports from residents who witnessed the incident suggest that the victim had been standing on the roadside before attempting to cross the road. At that moment, he was allegedly struck by a car travelling at high speed.
According to the same report, the collision resulted in severe injuries.
“As a result of the incident, the victim suffered serious head injuries and is reported to be in critical condition. Officers who arrived at the scene immediately provided medical treatment and evacuated the victim to the hospital by ambulance,” the post stated.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the location and provided initial assistance before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the victim’s identity or nationality.
The accident also affected traffic flow along Jalan HR Rasuna Said, causing congestion in the surrounding area while emergency personnel carried out the evacuation process and cleared the scene.
