Fire Destroys Villa in Seminyak Bali, Threatens Foreign Tourists’ Stay

Share:

A villa on Jalan Kayu Aya in Seminyak, Bali, caught fire on Friday, July 25, 2024.

The fire incident occurred at 10:20 pm. Four foreign nationals who occupied the villa almost became victims. But they managed to survive and were safe while securing their belongings.

The Amasya villa in Seminyak caught fire. In fact, 20 units of villas were burned, with losses estimated at billions of rupiah.

The fire could have been so big because the villa’s material was dominated by reeds, which made the fire spread quickly. Also, the villa’s roof is made of thatch.

Even extinguishing the fire took up to 6 hours and 23 minutes because dozens of villa units were burned.

From several videos circulating on social media, such as on the @dekyoana account, it is clear that the fire occurred and devoured almost all the villa buildings.

Kadek Putra, a member of the staff at a villa near the location, revealed that the flames appeared around 10 pm.

Staff members from nearby villas, including Kadek Putra, worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading further, securing goods and waiting for the fire department’s arrival.

Meanwhile, the head of the Fire and Rescue Department in Badung area, Komang Guna, said the fire team arrived at the location with 19 units of cars from all posts in Badung.

“The cause is still being investigated. What is clear is that there are no casualties. (The fire) has been extinguished,” said Komang Guna to Tribun Bali.
