After inaugurating direct flights with the new route Canberra, Australia—Bali, another new route for direct flights to Bali from abroad will be available this June 2024.

Etihad Airways has made a significant move by opening a new direct flight route, Abu Dhabi – Denpasar, Bali, on June 26, 2024.

The flight route is also the first time served by I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.

Etihad’s inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to Denpasar using a 787-900 Dreamliner aircraft, flight number EY 476, carrying 289 passengers, was greeted by a water salute procession at 11:35 WITA.

The opening of the new Abu Dhabi-Denpasar direct flight route operated by the airline from the United Arab Emirates is expected to significantly increase connectivity between the two countries, potentially leading to a surge in tourist visits to Bali.

The General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, said the addition of this route will further strengthen the Island of the Gods as a world-class destination.

“As one of the largest airlines in the world, we believe the operation of Etihad Airways will open up new market shares that have a positive impact in increasing the connectivity of Bali Island with various foreign destinations,” Handy told CNN Indonesia.

The new route is scheduled to fly four times a week.

In addition, he explained that Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi can accommodate 45 million passengers per year, with 120 destinations served worldwide. Bali’s connection to the UAE is expected to boost the number of foreign tourists coming to Bali.
