Trip Advisor has announced the Travelers’ Choice Awards, 2023, as the most popular destination and Bali won the second rank. The TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award is one of the most impactful awards a destination can win. Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best winners is determined by your rating, as confirmed by the TripAdvisor website “Real travelers from all over the world share their real opinions and stories.”

According to Trip Advisor, Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno announced that Bali successfully beat London and Paris as the ten most popular destinations in the world.

“Bali has again made a breakthrough. Bali has outperformed several destinations, such as Paris and London, in the Travelers’ Choice Award for Destinations. Bali rose two ranks, last year ranked 4th,” said Sandiaga during an online discussion.

Sandiaga explained that one of the evaluation indicators in the award was the quality and quantity of these destinations from November 2021 to 2022.

“The Travelers’ Choice Award rating indicators are the quality and quantity of reviews for November 2021 to 2022. That’s why I never want if there are a few negative reviews about Bali or Indonesian tourism. Because this is the result,” he said.

Sandiaga explained Bali has now managed to occupy the second position as one of the world’s ten most popular destinations after Dubai (Uni Arab Emirates). After that, in third place are London (United Kingdom), Rome (Italy), Paris (France), Cancun (Mexico), Crete (Greece), Marrakech (Morocco), Dominican Republic, and Istanbul (Turkey).

With Bali’s success in occupying the second position, Sandiaga hopes that Indonesia’s five other super-priority destinations will be able to occupy the ten most popular destinations in the world. He also hopes that Bali can become the number one most popular destination in Indonesia in the following years.

“The top 10 most popular destinations in the world in 2023, namely the first is Dubai UAE, the second is Bali, Indonesia. Bali outperformed London, Rome, Paris, Cancun, Crete, Marrakech, Dominican Republic, and Istanbul. So if you want to heal, why to go all the way abroad?” said Sandiaga.

“Bali here can be a feeder for our five super priority destinations. Hopefully, in the next five years, there will be one of our super priority destinations that penetrate this top 10. And I hope Bali can also enter as the first rank in the years to come,” he concluded.
