A heartwarming moment recently went viral in Bali, where a waitress in Sanur, Denpasar, received a generous tip of Rp 3 million from a foreign tourist.

The foreigner, named Samuel Weidenhofer, shared the emotional encounter on his TikTok account @itssozer on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

In the video, Samuel tested the sincerity of the waitress, Ayu, at Teras Sports Bar and Grill.

Pretending to be short on cash, Samuel told Ayu,I actually feel embarrassed to tell you, I only have Rp 50,000,as shown in the clip.

Without hesitation, Ayu immediately took her wallet and offered Samuel Rp 20,000 of her own money to help him.

“Is a little money okay for you? Here is Rp 20,000,Ayu said sincerely.

Samuel was deeply moved upon realizing Ayu was willing to help out of her own pocket, despite her modest earnings.

Ayu later revealed that she only makes around Rp 40,000 a day. Touched by her selflessness, Samuel surprised her by paying for his meal and handing her a tip of Rp 3 million.

The emotional moment left Ayu shocked and tearful. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude, calling it the biggest and first tip she had ever received.

“This is the biggest tip for me. This is the first tip in my life. I will never forget you, Sam,said Ayu.

The video has since amassed over 3.8 million views on TikTok and has been flooded with praise for Ayu’s kindness and sincerity.

This incident highlights the incredible impact small acts of kindness can have, creating unforgettable memories for both the giver and receiver.
