Bali for Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2022

20th September 2022 – Bali has become the location for the Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress 2022. This event is an annual international B2B congress revolving around the wedding industry held from 27th to 29th September 2022.

According to the Head of Operations QNA International, Tanvir Ahmed, at the Weekly Press Briefing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) that this event is to bring together wedding industries from all over the world to Bali to showcase the Island of the Gods as a wedding destination.

He adds that there are more than 460 wedding planners and more than 50 countries that are confirmed to attend the Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2022. The events will feature a variety of events such as exhibitions, discussions and networking sessions.

The Tourism Director for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Masruroh, said there are a number of countries that has the most attendance for the event.

They are India, America, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, England, Australia and Nigeria.

The Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress has been held in a couple of countries like Thailand, Greece, Italy and Mexico.

Masruroh hopes that this event could revive MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), especially in the wedding industry which has been in decline for the past two years.

She also added that the DWP Congress 2022 will have an effect on the entirety of the wedding industry in Indonesia.

Sandiaga Uno, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) also hopes that this event can energise the local economy, including services related to weddings.

He also added that this event will sell Bali and other destinations as luxury destinations while also opening up job and investigation opportunities and the multiplier effect regarding wedding arrangements.

Masruroh explained that there will be 35 speakers from 15 countries that will attend. Her team will optimize the event by inviting Indonesian wedding organizers, and vendors both from Bali and from other cities to establish networking.
