On Saturday, 15th of July, 2023, an enormous fire broke out at the K-Link Tower on Jalan Gatot Soebroto in the Setiabudi District of South Jakarta (Jaksel). The South Jakarta Fire Management and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat Sub-agency), which sent out dozens of people, managed the fire.

Syamsul Huda, the head of the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Department, claimed that a gas cylinder in the canteen on the seventh floor of K-Link Tower was what started the fire. Syamsul stated that the gas canister from the café on the seventh level was the result of temporary information.

Setiabudi Police Chief Kompol Arif Purnama Oktora acknowledged a petrol canister leak caused the tragedy. “According to witness testimony, the fire was caused by a leaking gas canister,” he explained.

The fire broke out around 10:00 a.m. The building’s seventh floor is where the fire first started. The fire has already spread widely and is destroying the floor above it. The Inner City Toll Road (JORR) offered an excellent view of the fire. A video of the fire that was captured by several drivers was posted on social media.

Firefighters have already extinguished the fire at the K-Link Tower in the Gatot Soebroto district of East Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.

The extinguishing operation was concluded at 12.05 p.m., according to DKI Jakarta Fire Management and Rescue Agency.

22 fire engines and 115 firefighters were reportedly dispatched to quell the fire that had devoured a portion of the K-Link Tower structure.

According to reports, there were injuries due to the K-Link Tower building fire. This incident resulted in minor injuries to 3 cafe employees. 4 people suffered from suffocation in this incident.

The wedding reception that was taking place on this premises as a result of this incident was also stopped. However, it was noted that the event resumed quickly after the fire was put out.
