Benefits of OCD Diet

Of course, other than having a much healthier and ideal body than before, there are other benefits from going through the OCD diet. Just as stated above, OCD diet has the same concept as intermittent fasting which, according to a study by John’s Hopkins neurologist, Mark Mattson, Ph.D, who has studied intermittent fasting for 24, said that there are various benefits of this practice.

In his study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, some of the benefits of doing intermittent diets are:

  • Memory improvement
  • Increases blood pressure and resting heart rate for the good of your heart
  • Increases physical performances
  • Prevention of obesity and diabetics
  • Rules for OCD Diet

There are a few rules to follow when you’re doing OCD Diet. It mostly depends on how long you can do intermittent fasting. Here are some of the rules that you can follow:

16 hours fasting, 8 hours of eating

This is more suitable for beginners. If you start at 1 PM, then you can only eat at 9 PM. Out of those hours, you’re not allowed to eat but only drink water.

18 hours fasting, 6 hours of eating

The same concept as above but you only lessen the time that you can eat. It’s advisable to know the limit of your body, don’t do any more than you can take or else there will be some side effects.

20 hours fasting, 4 hours of eating

Same as above, however, this one takes it to another step. For example, if you decided to eat at 1 PM then you’ll fast after 5 PM and don’t consume anything else.

24 hours fasting

This means you only eat once a day. You can eat anything you want for just one hour and proceed not eating anything else until the next day.

Side Effects and Precautions of OCD Diet

For those who have hectic everyday lives, you have to reconsider this diet. Your activity performance can decrease when you have less calorie intake due to fasting. Other than that, headaches or changes in sleeping schedules can happen. Additionally, OCD diet is not for people who suffered indigestion, pregnancy, or anyone under the age of 20 to prevent malnutrition.

As many diets are, some might not be suitable for you. Remember that you are dieting for better health benefits, if you find this diet not suitable for you, you can find another one that looked much easier to follow! For more information about Indonesia, you can check us out here!
