Viral Video Captures Indonesian Cat ‘Buying’ Ice Cream from Street Vendor

Share:

A cat named Nom Nom has gone viral after being caught curiously inspecting an ice cream cart while his owner was buying a treat.

The moment, captured on video, quickly spread across social media and amused many viewers.

The clip was uploaded by the TikTok account @dinosaurbulu, showing Nom Nom approaching a passing ice cream vendor. Instead of keeping his distance, the cat moved closer to the cart and began sniffing around as if he wanted to know exactly what was inside.

Nom Nom appeared especially interested in the ice cream. In the video, he stands near the cart and carefully inspects it while his owner makes the purchase.

According to the uploader, the cat often approaches anything related to food. Despite his interest, the owner decided not to give him any of the ice cream.

The video quickly gained attention online and prompted a wave of playful comments from viewers.

“so cute 🤣🤣🤣,” wrote one netizen.

Another viewer joked, “Seriously, there’s a cat buying ice cream? It’s not cold…”

Some users also shared stories about their own pets behaving in similar ways.

“My cat owed me salted fish and cakes from a food stall. The evidence was lying on the porch when I got home. I immediately asked the local food stall, and sure enough, he took the salted fish for 5,000 Rupiah and cakes,” one user wrote.

Can Cats Eat Ice Cream?

Although Nom Nom’s curiosity entertained viewers, experts say ice cream is not suitable for cats.

In short, cats should not eat ice cream. It is a treat that is best avoided because it can cause digestive problems.

One of the main concerns is lactose. Most adult cats are lactose intolerant, meaning their bodies cannot properly digest milk or dairy products.

Ice cream also contains a high amount of sugar, which can lead to further health problems.

For cats with existing conditions, the risks may be even greater. Animals with sensitive stomachs, diabetes, obesity, or a history of pancreatitis could experience flare-ups even after eating a small amount.

For this reason, veterinarians generally recommend keeping sweet treats like ice cream away from pets.

Nom Nom may only have been curious about the ice cream cart, but his owner’s decision not to share the treat was the safest choice.
