Australian tourists who want to vacation in Bali now have more transportation options. I, Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, have again received additional international routes connecting Bali with Australia, which can now be reached through Canberra.

Now, Ngurah Rai Airport serves nine direct flight routes to Australia.

Handy Heryudhitiawan, the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, is excited to share that our connectivity with Australia is expanding. With the operation of Batik Air on the Canberra-Denpasar route, our international flight routes to Kangaroo Country have increased, further enhancing Bali’s connection with Australia.

Especially for Australia, the additional route to and from Canberra follows eight previous routes, namely Sydney, Perth, Cairns, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Darwin, which are served by eight airlines.

“Currently, Australia is the country with the highest number of foreign arrivals at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Based on data from the Immigration Office Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai, until May, there were 454,272 Australian foreigners visiting Bali,” Handy said.

He hopes that the addition of direct routes to Australia will increase the flow of Australian tourists to Bali.

For information, Ngurah Rai Airport served 9,183,764 passengers and 56,627 aircraft movements from January to May 2024. With the operation of the Canberra route, there are currently 35 international routes with 38 airlines and 21 domestic routes served by 11 airlines at Ngurah Rai Airport.

As reported from Antara, the addition of new routes to Bali will continue to be added in 2024. In April, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, received additional direct flights to and from India with IndiGo.

Handy said that another new international route (direct flights) will be established from Abu Dhabi to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
