Viral: Travelers Landing at Bali Airport Experience a Welcome Resembling a Fansign

Share:

These two viral videos show the experience of foreign travelers landing at Bali airport. They show how crowded the airport is when picking up or welcoming tourists who have just landed.

The video uploaded by @charliebraile shows many ‘greeters’ at Bali airport carrying and lifting signboards. It feels like foreign tourists who have just landed are awaited by fans holding up fan signs with their names.

There is another viral video from @reesebros that also shows the atmosphere of Bali airport, full of greeters holding up signboards. In the comedy-themed video, one of the foreign tourists is happy to meet their regular Bali driver. They even hug and dance together.

However, the Bali driver immediately leave him when another foreign tourist offered more money for his services. One netizen jokingly wrote, “Money talks anywhere you go.”

The number of foreign travelers visiting Bali in the first half of 2024 has indeed increased.

Compiling data from Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics, the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali in March 2024 reached 469,227 visits.

The number increased by 3.06% month-to-month (mtm) compared to February 2024, which amounted to 455,277 visits. Annually, the number of foreign tourist visits also increased by 26.58% year-on-year (yoy) compared to March 2023.

Furthermore, foreign tourists who came to Bali mostly came from Australia; the number reached 113,949 visits. India held second place with a total of 41,690 visits. China came in third with 29,671 visits, followed by the UK with 27,114 visits and the United States with 23,417 visits.

Almost all foreign tourists who come to Bali (98.84%) use air transportation, and the rest (1.15%) use sea transportation.

Given the large number of foreign tourists who come by air transportation, familiar scenes like the two viral videos above will likely be found more often at Bali airport.
