Drug Lab in Canggu, Bali Allegedly Selling Through Darknet Using Secret Code

Bali was shocked by the news of a drug lab raid. Four people, consisting of two Ukrainian twins and a Russian citizen, were named as suspects in the drug case. The three of them were involved in a clandestine drug lab case in a villa in Canggu, Badung, Bali.

A joint team of the Directorate of Narcotics Crimes of the Criminal Investigation of the National Police with the Directorate General of Customs, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs Office, Bali Customs Office, Bali Immigration Office, Bali Police Ditresnarkoba, and Badung Police dismantled this case.

When interrogated, the foreigner who set up the drug lab admitted to selling the illicit goods through a darknet forum. After that, a video circulated showing the ‘approximate’ secret code around the Bali area.

The secret darknet code was scattered at several points on the road in Canggu, Bali. The code reads ‘Darknetrorum2roads.cc’.

The secret code looks neatly printed. The code has a yellow logo with an arrow in the opposite direction.

The code is also posted on the walls of residents’ homes. It was also installed on the walls of the villa at the end of the alley and the walls of shops.

Police Criminal Investigation Unit Commissioner General Wahyu Widada revealed that the modus operandi of the network calling itself ‘Hydra Indonesia’ uses digital technology, from the stages of production and distribution to transactions carried out through the real and digital worlds.

“The marketing uses the ‘Hydra Indonesia’ network through darknetforum2road.cc through the Telegram Bot application. Some Telegram groups are Bali Hydra Bot, Cannashop Robot, Bali Cristal Bot, Hydra Indonesia Manager, and Cannashop Mentor,” Wahyu said in Badung, Bali, Monday, May 13, 2024.

This network puts stickers on several street corners in the Bali area. The ‘Hydra’ network is also the network’s code for drug transactions.

“This is pasted anywhere, ordinary people passing by don’t know, it turns out it’s a code to buy this (drugs),” Wahyu told DetikNews.
