Indonesia Immigration to Have Three Special Counters for World Water Forum 2024

Share:

As the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) approaches, set to take place in Bali from May 18-25, 2024, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office is implementing special measures to ensure a smooth arrival experience for delegates.

To expedite immigration checks, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office has set up three dedicated counters, each staffed by four immigration personnel, to handle the influx of WWF delegates. These counters will be operational at both the international arrivals and VIP terminals of Ngurah Rai Airport.

Three Special Autogates Enhancing Arrival Efficiency

In addition to the dedicated counters, the Immigration Office is also leveraging the power of technology to streamline arrivals. Currently, 30 autogate units are operational at the international arrivals terminal since March 6, 2024. These automated facilities are expected to significantly reduce immigration processing time from several minutes to a mere 15 to 25 seconds per traveller.

To further enhance arrival efficiency, an additional 30 autogate units are being installed at the international arrivals terminal, with completion targeted for August 2024. Additionally, plans are in place to install 20 more autogate units at the international departure terminal, bringing the total number of autogate units at Ngurah Rai Airport to 80.

Eligibility & Integration of Advanced Technologies

Currently, autogate usage is authorized for Indonesian citizens (WNI) holding all types of passports, including regular and electronic passports. For foreign nationals (WNA), autogate eligibility extends to those holding electronic passports with Electronic Visa on Arrival (E-VoA) and Electronic Visa (E-Visa). Additionally, WNA holding Limited Stay Permit Cards (KITAS), Permanent Stay Permit Cards (KITAP), and citizens from visa-free countries (BVK) under the ASEAN framework who have registered on the evisa.imigrasi.go.id website are also eligible to use autogate.

The immigration process further integrates advanced technologies, including facial recognition and Border Control Management (BCM) systems, to enhance security and efficiency.

Anticipated Delegate Numbers

According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, the triennial World Water Forum is expected to draw around 35,000 delegates from approximately 193 countries worldwide. The ministerial-level forum, themed “Water for Shared Prosperity,” will be held in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office’s comprehensive measures, including dedicated counters, autogate facilities, and advanced technology integration, are commendable steps towards ensuring a seamless and efficient arrival experience for WWF delegates, contributing to the overall success of this important global event.
