Ngurah Rai International Airport officially commenced operating a new direct flight route from Bali-New Delhi, and vice versa, starting on 1 December 2023. Vistara, an Indian airline, exclusively will manage flights along this route. The direct flight lasts approximately 8 hours and 5 minutes, accommodating a total of 185 passengers.

The launch of the Bali-New Delhi route received a positive response from I Wayan Puspa Negara, Chairman of the Bali Marginal Tourism Actors Alliance. Despite their diverse backgrounds and characters, he expressed delight at the development, highlighting the significant contributions made by foreign tourists to the Island of the Gods.

“Every contributing country presents its unique character, some of which can be quite extreme. Particularly for India, after the borders reopened, it stands in second place just after Australia. India’s remarkable growth has led to 30% to 40% of tourists choosing Bali,” Puspa stated, as reported by CNN Indonesia.

Recent data highlights that tourists from India rank among the top 10 countries significantly contributing to Bali’s tourism. Since the reopening of borders for tourists in 2022, Indian tourists have played a substantial role in Bali’s recovery following the 2020 pandemic.

The aspiration is that the inauguration of the Bali-New Delhi flight route round trip will bolster occupancy rates towards the end of 2023 and persist throughout 2024.

By December 2023, a collective of 37 airlines will manage 37 international routes. According to Ngurah Rai Immigration’s 2019 data, Bali welcomed 377,543 tourists. This establishes Bali as a cherished destination among numerous Indian travellers today.

Starting from 1 December 2023, the New Delhi-Bali flight route will operate daily. Departing from India at 00:30 AM local time, it reaches Bali at 11:05 AM local time under the flight code UK145. Conversely, the Bali-New Delhi route departs at 12:10 PM local time, arriving in Delhi at 5:45 PM local time with the flight code UK146.
