A French tourist at Kelilingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Bali, experienced an unpleasant incident. The French citizen reportedly slipped when she was about to go down to the beach on Friday, the 11th of August, 2023.

Kelingking Beach, which is located in Bungamekar Village, Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali, is indeed known for its quite tricky terrain because there are so many steps that must be traversed if you want to reach the beach from a fairly steep hill.

This incident caused the 45-year-old French woman to be evacuated by the rescue team because she suffered an injury on her right shoulder.

“We received information that a foreigner required evacuation at 04.15 p.m. WITA and immediately dispatched seven personnel from the Nusa Penida SAR Alert Unit,” said the Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, I Nyoman Sidakarya, on Saturday the 12th of August 2023.

At around 5 p.m. WITA, the waves were still high, so the French tourist could not be evacuated by sea.

“The team then headed to the victim’s location to evacuate by land,” said Sidakarya.

Due to the condition of the French tourists, who could still walk, the evacuation was carried out by the rescue team itself without asking for the help of the authorities.

After that, the victim was immediately given initial treatment by medical personnel.

Finally, at around 7:30 p.m., WITA, the combined SAR team, successfully evacuated, and then the French tourist was referred to the Nusa Medika clinic by ambulance for further treatment.

During the evacuation, the SAR team also involved a joint SAR team from Nusa Penida, the Nusa Penida Police, the Nusa Medika Media Team, the Nusa Penida Koramil, and the Kelingking Beach tour guide.
