Tourists are now asked to be extra careful when visiting one of the most famous beaches in Nusa Penida, Angel’s Billabong Beach. Recently a viral video on social media shows high waves that can easily sweep away tourists at Angel’s Billabong Beach.

Nusa Penida, an outlying island of Bali, is one of the most well-liked travel destinations. Over 1,500 people visit the island daily, attracted by its amazing cliff-top vistas, gorgeous beaches, and plenty of outdoor activities.

Despite its beauty, Nusa Penida can be dangerous, especially during rainy days like these days.

This year, the island has made headlines several times due to incidents involving tourists from all over the world that, in some circumstances, might have been prevented if safety had been prioritised. Tragically, some of these accidents resulted in fatalities.

Angel’s Billabong Beach lures people in with crystal clear waters nestled between rocks, but the video explains waves can come crashing through the area, knocking people off their feet.

“The most beautiful and peaceful place,” the viral video explains. “Can also be the most dangerous ones!”

The natural tidal pools are the ideal, peaceful location to take a dip when the waves are quiet, and the sun is shining. However, Angel’s Billabong is not always calm and clear, as growing amounts of video on social media demonstrate.

Angel’s Billabong Beach attracts visitors who want to photograph the picture-perfect natural pool and adrenaline seekers who want to feel the wrath of the pounding waves.

The footage depicts a huge wave slamming over the rocks and water spraying into the air, alarming those around it. As the water reaches them, people can be seen falling to the ground.

“Who would have guessed that Angel’s Billabong, which is as calm and beautiful as this, is also potentially dangerous?” The caption for the video says. “Always stay alert and follow your guide’s instructions.”

Several visitors have died at the site, including a 46-year-old Chinese lady slain while taking a picture in 2018.

A 23-year-old New Zealand national went missing in the area a year ago after his German friend fell into the water.

In 2016, Perth resident Brad Williams lost his wife Lestari and their daughter, who was eight years old, after the three were dragged into the water while strolling along the cliffs at Angel’s Billabong Beach.
