Ubud is once again included in the prestigious global list as the fourth most favourite city in the world. The “25 Favourite Cities in the World” in 2023 list from Travel + Leisure was released, and it included cities from 5 of the world’s seven continents. The magazine’s readers chose these cities as their favourite places to visit.

Readers were asked to rate destinations based on the following criteria:

  • Sites and landmarks
  • Culture
  • Food
  • Friendliness
  • Shopping
  • Value for Money

Bali is indeed known as a little piece of heaven on earth, consistently being a favourite place for everyone worldwide to have a vacation or even celebrate their honeymoon in Bali. Still, this city on the Island of Gods has always been a tourist magnet.

Ubud is a city surrounded by hills, waterfalls, rice terraces, and charming rainforests, promising a pleasant holiday and a majestic atmosphere that not many places in the world have. Ubud is also known as the centre of culture and traditions in Bali. Who doesn’t know Saraswati Temple or Ubud Lotus Temple? Ubud is famous worldwide.

Ubud is loved for its natural beauty, culture, and traditions. Ubud is the favourite city of choice for many tourists as well because of the friendliness of the locals and lots of entertainment offered at affordable prices. It’s no wonder that Ubud is included in the list of the best cities in the world. This is not the first time Ubud has made Bali and Indonesia proud globally. Since 2021, Ubud has been ranked among the top 5 best cities worldwide by various websites and world travel magazines.

Ubud, a central Balinese town, was ranked #4 (91.73 points) among Travel + Leisure’s “25 Favourite Cities in the World”, described as “an inland Balinese city surrounded by jungle.” One reader described the highlights of their vacation as “swinging over rice terraces, riding elephants, chasing waterfalls, taking pictures with monkeys, shopping at both market stalls and high-end stores, beautiful restaurants (Cafe Lotus at night is special), cheap massages, and hotels with stunning scenery.”
