Following the cancellation of Lewis Capaldi’s performance at the Jakarta music festival earlier this month, We The Fest is presently looking for someone to replace him.

“Thank you for your patience. We’re trying, and maybe we’ll have good news for Lewis Capaldi replacement in the next three weeks,” stated Brand Consultant Ismaya Live Sarah Deshita on Wednesday, the 5th of July, 2023, in South Jakarta.

On Tuesday, the 27th of June 2023, Lewis Capaldi posted on his Instagram about his decision to temporarily suspend all performance activities to focus on his physical and emotional health. We The Fest, confirmed the cancellation of the Before You Go singer’s appearance at the festival on the same day.

Due to his Tourette’s condition, Lewis Capaldi lost his voice unexpectedly during Glastonbury Festival on the 24th of June 2023. The crowd at that event then joined in on his song to help him.

Sarah understands the concert-goers’ dissatisfaction regarding this sudden news. However, she begs the audience to comprehend that the singer’s health led him to postpone his performance globally and in Jakarta.

Although the organiser won’t say who might take Lewis Capaldi’s place, they did say a unique performance is expected to take place.

We The Fest is scheduled to take place from the 21st through the 23rd of July, 2023, at the GBK Sports Complex in Senayan, Jakarta. International performers like The Strokes, The 1975, Daniel Caesar, Sabrina Carpenter, and The Kid LAROI will be performing there, as well as local musicians like Gigi, Hindia, and Efek Rumah Kaca.

We The Fest is one of the biggest music festivals in Indonesia, which is why it is understandable why a lot of concert-goers are expecting so much more from this festival. Lewis Capaldi’s cancellation is such a big deal that some of the ticket holders might considered not to attend the festival. This will be such a challenge for Ismaya Live as the We The Fest event organiser to find an on-par replacement to keep the crowd excited.
