The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), launched an online-based tourist and pre-investment visa application service.

This service is aimed at foreign nationals (WNA) who wish to visit Indonesia. They can access the service through the Foreigner Traffic Module (Molina) website on the molina.imigrasi.go.id page.

“Apart from applying for a Visit Visa for Tourism and Pre-Investment, foreigners can also extend the Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) through the Molina website,” said Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim in his official statement, Thursday, 26th January 2023.

Silmy said that payment for the visa application and extension can be made via credit or debit cards in the Visa, Mastercard and JCB networks.

He added that the visa application could be completed in one process.

“This is a form of digitizing public services that are being promoted by the Directorate General of Immigration,” said Silmy.

The former Main Director of PT Krakatau Steel said, with this service, foreigners who wish to visit for travel or pre-investment purposes can get a visit visa without guarantors or sponsors.

His party hopes that the service, which was launched on 26th January 2023, can grow the tourism and investment sector.

This new service makes things easier for foreigners. In the previous system, to extend their visa, foreign tourists holding e-VOA had to come to the Immigration office.

He added that this new service is also expected to make foreign tourists more comfortable enjoying their vacation time. This is because all stages of the submission can be processed via a cellphone with an internet network.

“Immigration makes it easy for global business people and investors to review and study potential investments before they invest in Indonesia,” said Silmy.

Furthermore, Silmy explained the online visa application procedure for foreigners. First, they must create an account at molina.imigrasi.go.id.

After logging in, the relevant foreigner fills out the form provided and uploads several documents.

If the requested data is confirmed to be correct, the applicant can complete the payment online, following the guidelines provided on the website.

After all these steps have been taken, the visa will be sent to the applicant’s e-mail address.

“We are also accelerating immigration services that pay attention to the needs of the community through data-based analysis and increasing digital insight in Immigration ranks,” said Silmy.
