4th October 2022 – The Government has once again extended the Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement or CARE (PPKM) for the Java-Bali area and others. Currently, all areas are under the Level 1 category. This extension is valid starting from today, Tuesday (4/10) to 7th November 2022.

This extension is based on the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) No. 45 of 2022 and 46 of 2022 which were signed by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.

The Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal, said that the Covid-19 case has been under control in the last few months, but there have been community activities that have started to return to normal as before the pandemic. He reminded that the raise of Covid-19 cases can happen at any time.

His team has continuously conveyed to all stakeholders in the region, whether it’s from the government, the Regional leadership coordination forum (Forkompinda), TNI/Polri, or other stakeholders to continue working together with the enforcement of health protocols to maintain the improving pandemic condition.

He also asked regional leaders to speed up the implementation of the third dose of Covid-19 vaccination. One of the reasons for the extension of the PPKM is that the coverage of the third dose has yet to be satisfactory.

According to the data from the Ministry of Home Affairs, as of October 3, 2022, the total number of Covid-19 vaccination dose 1 is 204,618,410 people (87,20 percent). Second dose is 171,229,832 people (72,97 percent), while the third dose (booster) is only 63,703,003 people (27,13 percent) out of the total target of 234,666,020 people.

The Government urged people who have yet to receive the third vaccination or booster against Covid-19 to immediately do so at the nearest health service facility to increase immunity against exposure to Covid-19.

He asked regional leaders to continue to support the acceleration of the implementation of boosters, and the use of PeduliLindungi when entering public places in a proactive, focused, and coordinated manner.
