Bornga – Authentic Korean Food at Reasonable Prices — Craving for accessible Korean food with top-quality food on par with that in restaurants in Seoul? Look no more as Bornga provides high-quality food yet at reasonable prices.

There are various Bornga restaurants that you can visit all around Jakarta, including Senopati, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Kelapa Gading, or some malls like NEO SOHO, Lippo Mall Puri, and others. They have a branch in Yogyakarta and Bandung too. For today, we visited their Pantai Indah Kapuk branch.

The server makes you feel like you’re just welcomed home as they are very friendly and willing to help you with your order at any time. The smell of grilled Korean beef is faint which in my opinion, makes you feel hungrier. The architecture itself is contemporary that gives you elegance with paintings of Korean old villages.

Their menu is very much varied, but their speciality is totally their Korean barbecue. For that, we ordered their Pork Set C which consists of marinated grilled spareribs, pork belly, pork neck, grilled cheese rice cakes, grilled vegetables, and grilled seasonal fruits. Along with that, we ordered kimchi soup and steamed eggs.

The server is willing to help you grill the meat if you want to but overall, the meat quality is great and should not be questioned at all when you can see the smooth marbling on it. The meat itself melts right into your mouth and it’s already delicious on its own, but I usually make it into a ssam, which is the beef, kimchi, and ssamjang combined.

The kimchi soup has the right amount of tanginess from the kimchi and overall, a hearty meal to accompany the beef. While the steamed eggs seem ordinary, the fluffiness is a nice change compared to the beef.

The food is beyond satisfactory and the price is reasonable. They also offer some alcoholic drinks, including some authentic Korean alcohols such as soju, bokbunja-ju, seoljungmae, and makgeolli. We recommend getting any of these alcoholic drinks to accompany your food to maximize your Korean food experience.

Overall, the food is top-notch and the ambiance is very open and comfortable. It gives you an impression as if you’re eating in Seoul or any other city in Korea rather than in Jakarta.

That’s all for our review of Bornga, makes you craving for Korean food, doesn’t it? For more information, check out their official website and Instagram below:
