Online Ojek Fares Postponed to August 29, 2022

Share:

August 15, 2022 – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has postponed the implementation of the increase in online motorcycle taxis (online ojek or ojol) fares. It’s been postponed for 25 days since the Minister of Transportation (KM) Decree Number KP 564 of 2022 was set on August 4, 2022. This means that the implementation of the new ojol fare will only take effect on August 29, 2022.

In KM Number KP 564 of 2022, it was initially written that the effective implementation was carried out for a maximum of 10 calendar days. However, based on the results of the review, it takes a longer time to disseminate this new tariff to all stakeholders, considering that the ojol is a transportation that is related to the interests of the community. That’s why the increase of online ojek fares is postponed.

Therefore, quoted from a written statement by the Director General of Land Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno, Monday (15/8/2022), the effective enforcement of this rule was increased to no later than 25 calendar days. Sugiatno stated that the additional time for socialization was based on input from all parties.

He hopes that with the time for adjusting the increase of online ojek fares in the application, the applicator can also immediately apply the new fares and improve services for passengers, including ensuring passenger safety.
