2022 Pesona Belitung Beach Festival to Boost Eco-Tourism

Share:

August 11, 2022 – Since eco-tourism has been increasingly in demand, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno opens the 2022 Pesona Belitung Beach Festival. The festival is located at Tanjung Pendam beach, Belitung.

“I will officially open the 2022 Pesona Belitung Beach Festival while also keeping the health protocols in order to keep our tourism momentum steady,” he said.

The Tourism Ministry believed that the 2022 Belitung Beach Festival is able to support Belitung tourism as it is UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG), Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Parawisata, and one of the 10 tourism destination priorities in Indonesia.

Other than the 2022 Pesona Belitung Beach Festival, he hoped that other eco-tourism destinations such as Bukit Peramun, Juru Seberang, Desa Wisata Kreatif Terong, mangrove spots and destination such as releasing of hatchling in KEK Tanjung Kelayang will attract tourists too.

Additionally, Uno said that The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has ensured that the tourist destinations will be ready to be visited too. Especially with the CHSE (Cleanliness, Healthy, Safety and Environmental Sustainability). The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) that will be displayed must be innovative, adaptable and collaborative.

“This is the era of collaboration. UMKM must be digitalised. This we help by Gernas Bangga Buatan Indonesia,” he said.

He also shows appreciation for the 2022 Pesona Belitung Beach Festival activity that managed to break through the 2022 Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) with the purpose of promoting tourism destinations, increasing the number of tourists, empowering local potential, and giving a positive impact on the economic, social, and culture.

The arrival of Sandiaga Uno at the 2022 Belitung Beach Festival was greeted with Belitung’s tradition of fighting over Lawang.

The 2022 Belitung Beach Festival is festively held with culture parades, dances, and dozens of local Belitung’s UMKM ranging from culinary, art, and fashion. This festival is going to be held from August 10 to August 14, 2022.
