Viral Video Shows Indonesian Man Subduing Allegedly Drunk Foreigner After Harassment Incident in Bali

Share:

A video showing a local man restraining a foreigner in Bali has circulated widely on social media since Monday, 30 March 2026.

The footage captures the moment the man applies a chokehold to subdue the individual, who is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol.

According to information shared in the video, the incident was triggered by accusations that the foreigner had sexually harassed a woman in a public area. The situation reportedly caused a disturbance, drawing the attention of nearby residents.

In the video, the local man is heard addressing the situation while attempting to control the individual.

“This is a drunk foreigner who touched a woman; he has no respect. Respect local people; never touch women like that,” he said.

The recording shows the incident taking place on the side of a road at night. Several bystanders can be seen observing as the situation unfolds.

Local Man Says Action Was to Maintain Order

During the incident, the man stated that his actions were not intended to provoke conflict but to respond to behaviour he considered inappropriate.

He emphasised the importance of respecting local customs and maintaining public order.

“I’m not fighting for nothing. Respect the locals because Bali is safe and the people are kind,” he said in the video.

The man also questioned the drunk foreigner about his origin while issuing a warning. “I could have hit you, but I chose to strangle you until you understand. There are a lot of Russians causing trouble here, so don’t be one of them,” he said.

Preliminary accounts suggest that alcohol may have contributed to the foreigner’s behaviour. However, no official confirmation has been issued regarding the individual’s condition at the time of the incident.

The video does not provide clear details about the identity of those involved or the exact sequence of events prior to the restraint.

Police Say No Official Report Has Been Filed

Authorities have acknowledged the circulation of the video but stated that no formal report has been submitted. Police also confirmed that the precise location of the incident remains unclear.

“The location of the incident is not yet known. No one has reported it yet,” said Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti, PS Kasubsipenmas Sihumas Polres Badung.

As of now, police have not announced any investigation or identified the individuals involved. Without an official complaint, further action may depend on additional information coming forward.

The incident has generated public discussion online, particularly regarding tourist behaviour and local responses to disturbances. However, officials have not released further statements beyond confirming the absence of a report.
