Plataran Bromo, GH Universal Bandung, and Resinda Hotel Karawang Highlighted in 2025 Travellers’ Choice Awards

Three Indonesian hotels have been recognised among the world’s most family-friendly accommodations in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2025, announced in April. Each hotel, located in a different region of Java, offers a distinct experience for family holidays during the school break.

TripAdvisor explained the significance of the accolade, stating, “The Travellers’ Choice Awards’ Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. The title is awarded to those who receive the most outstanding reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over 12 months. Of our 8 million users, less than one per cent reached this milestone.”

Leading the Asian entries and ranked second globally, GH Universal Hotel in Bandung stood out for its distinctive design and family-oriented services.

“You’ll find comfortable beds and beautiful views, plus fun kids’ activities. The quick check-in process and affordable prices make for a pleasant stay, with plenty of photo opportunities to capture the memories,” TripAdvisor noted.

The hotel, styled in a classic European castle design, is located on Setiabudi Street near Lembang and offers panoramic views of Bandung. It is known for hosting weddings, honeymoons and photo shoots, as well as providing a child-friendly environment.

Plataran Bromo and Resinda Karawang Also Recognised for Family Excellence

Plataran Bromo Resort & Venue in East Java also earned global praise for its dedication to ecotourism and educational family experiences.

Positioned in the highlands near Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, the resort offers a meaningful stay rooted in sustainability and community engagement. This recognition further affirms Plataran Bromo’s commitment to delivering inclusive family travel experiences.

Yozua Makes, CEO and Founder of Plataran Indonesia, expressed gratitude for the award. “Being recognised on the international stage is a great honour for us. We dedicate this award to our dedicated team, the local communities we partner with, and the families who entrust us with their precious moments in Bromo,” he stated in a press release.

Plataran Bromo features family-specific programmes, including the Plataran Junior initiative, which introduces children to sustainable agriculture through hands-on activities like Little Farmer.

The resort also offers Plataran Carnaval, a cultural enrichment programme involving traditional games and crafts. All activities are built upon Plataran’s three core values: nature, culture, and community.

Resinda Hotel Karawang, managed by Padma Hotels, was ranked 17th in the family-friendly category. Despite being located in an industrial city, the hotel offers resort-style features, including a lagoon-style swimming pool, landscaped gardens, and a Japanese-inspired bathing area.

According to TripAdvisor, “It’s a great place with spacious and clean accommodation, perfect for working from a hotel or a family vacation.”

TripAdvisor also praised its facilities, stating, “Its strategic location provides bridge access to malls and beautiful views, making it a convenient choice. Hotel facilities include a Japanese-style bath, spa, babysitting services, and a fun kids’ area.”

The hotel is currently developing Resinda Oasis Park, a waterpark that will further enhance its appeal for families travelling with children.
