New Single ‘Type Dangerous’ Marks Mariah Carey’s Comeback
Ahead of her return to Indonesia, Mariah Carey has also released a new single titled Type Dangerous. The track opens her forthcoming 16th studio album and represents her first new release in seven years.
Produced in collaboration with N.W.I. and Daniel Moore, the song blends her signature vocal style with a sample from Eric B. & Rakim’s Eric B Is President.
Type Dangerous has been described as a potential summer anthem and a fresh chapter in the career of the artist renowned for her five-octave vocal range. A music video directed by Joseph Kahn, who previously worked on Carey’s #Beautiful and All I Want for Christmas Is You is currently in production.
The teaser has already generated strong anticipation on social media.
This new release precedes two major appearances: her reception of the BET Ultimate Icon Award on 9 June and a headline performance at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on 15 June.
With five Grammy Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 14 Billboard Music Awards, and a position in Rolling Stone‘s top five greatest singers of all time (2023), Mariah Carey continues to reaffirm her legacy in the global music industry.
