Jakarta New Year’s Eve 2024: LRT, MRT, KRL, TransJakarta Public Transport Schedule

Jakarta’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will span various areas, accompanied by the DKI Jakarta government’s implementation of a ‘car-free night’ policy. Public transport in Jakarta during New Year’s Eve will extend its operating hours until the early morning, with a maximum of 2 AM local time.

As per a press release by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency shared on their Instagram account (@dishubdkijakarta), traffic engineering will be enforced. Additionally, there will be an extension of public transport operational hours along Sudirman to M.H. Thamrin.

 


The New Year’s Eve ‘Car Free Night’ initiative will centre on three primary zones: Monas, M.H. Thamrin, and Sudirman. Alongside this, the Jakarta government has readied 24 parking lots capable of accommodating hundreds, even thousands, of private vehicles. Simultaneously, on 1st January 2024, a national holiday, the DKI Jakarta government will suspend the “Odd-Even” (Ganjil/Genap) policy.

For those using public transportation and planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2024 in Jakarta, here’s the most recent update on the schedules for KRL, LRT, MRT, and TransJakarta!

KRL Schedule

On New Year’s Eve 2024, the Jabodetabek KRL will run until 2 AM local time. For the most updated schedule for each station, the KAI Access application is available for reference.

Jakarta Public Transport – MRT Schedule

Starting from December 31, 2023, MRT Jakarta will operate from 5 AM local time to 2 AM on January 1, 2024. Train frequency will be approximately every 10 minutes from 5 AM to 12 AM and will reduce to 5 minutes from 12 AM to 1 AM.

LRT Schedule

As a recently introduced mode of public transport in Jakarta, the LRT has gained significant popularity among commuters. Here’s the most recent LRT schedule for New Year’s Eve 2024:

1. Dukuh Atas Station – Jatimulya Station

  • First departure: 31st December 2023 at 05.59 AM
  • Last departure: 1st January  2024 at 00.44 AM

2. Jatimulya Station- Dukuh Atas Station

  • First departure: 31st December 2023 at 05.02 AM
  • Last departure: 31st December 2023 at 11.47 PM

3. Dukuh Atas Station – Harjamukti Station

  •  First departure: 31st December 2023 at 06.05 AM
  •  Last departure: 1st January 2024 at 00.50 AM

4. Harjamukti Station – Dukuh Atas Station

  • First departure: 31st December 2023 at 05.10 AM
  • Last departure: 31st December 2023 at 11.55 PM

TransJakarta Schedule

From 31st December  2023 to 1st January 2024, TransJakarta has extended its operating hours until 2 AM local time. However, the arrival time for each bus at the bus stop will continue to vary based on road conditions and crowd density at New Year celebration spots in Jakarta.
