Jakarta’s Car Free Day to Continue Every Sunday During Ramadan 2024

Share:

During Ramadan 2024, the Transportation Department of Jakarta Provinces continues to organize Jakarta’s Car Free Day (CFD) activities on various roads. This weekly event spans from MH Thamrin to Jenderal Sudirman Street.

Unlike the typical Jakarta’s Car Free Day, the CFD activities during Ramadan 2024 will not feature stages, music, or parades. Instead, it will serve as a public space for Jakarta residents to engage in sports, environmental activities, and arts and culture.

Those planning to organize events during Jakarta’s Car Free Day must submit notifications and registrations to the CFD Organizing Working Group, overseen by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Service.

The Jakarta’s Car Free Day will proceed as scheduled on Sunday, 17th March 2024. According to Detik News, as of 7:15 AM, there are still individuals engaging in exercise activities. However, the number of participants during Ramadan is notably lower, resulting in a quieter atmosphere.

From a medical standpoint, there are no restrictions on exercising while fasting. During fasting, the body abstains from food and drink for 12-13 hours, making it crucial to choose appropriate types of exercise.

If you want to stay active during fasting, consider several light exercise options, such as yoga, walking, Pilates, and cycling. The ideal times for exercising while fasting are before dawn, after breaking the fast, and before bedtime.

To maintain optimal fasting performance, consuming various foods and drinks to meet your body’s fluid needs is essential. Dehydration can occur if you engage in strenuous exercise while fasting. Additionally, ensure you get enough rest to stay energized while exercising during fasting periods.
