Ikkudo Ichi: A Ramen Restaurant That’s Worth the Wait

Who does not know Ikkudo Ichi? This ramen shop elevates the original taste of Japan. This place is unique with Japanese-style decorations plus the queue is never empty, making Ikkudo Ichi a must-visit destination for Japanese cuisine lovers, especially ramen.

When I came here yesterday, I ordered the Tori signature ramen; their signature menu. The taste of the chicken broth is very good, a bit oily and the texture is very thick. This ramen comes with two juicy and thick pieces of chicken, spring onions, chopped wood ear, and omega eggs.

For the type of noodle, I chose the straight one and the taste is quite authentic because it is made with special noodle flour. There are two sizes for this type of ramen, small and regular. If you like spicy food, you can ask the waiter for chopped chili and the staff will gladly give them to you.

In addition to Tori signature ramen, you can also order tan-tan ramen with a spicier taste for its best-selling menu. Besides the chicken, there is some pork ramen menu to choose from. But if you can’t eat pork or avoid outlets that sell pork, you can try eating at Ikkudo Ichi in Kota Kasablanka or The Breeze outlets. These two outlets, only sell the chicken ramen.

The side dish I ordered was the juicy grilled gyoza. Although sometimes the skin is a little too dry, the centre part and the filling are very juicy. The gyoza is rich with the signature taste of onions and ginger kick. Really delicious! For the drink, I just ordered a fresh cold ocha.

Ikkudo Ichi is a ramen shop that is worth a visit when we want a savoury taste of ramen with a thick broth. Plus, the various menu makes this shop worth the queue and money.

If you are interested in trying to eat in this place, you can check for their shops in several Jakarta malls on their official Instagram account @ikkudoichi
