Devendra’s culinary training and experience illustrate the possibilities for chefs in India. His previous roles include serving as head chef at Time and Again, a northern Indian restaurant in Mumbai; working his way up from commis II to commis chef (junior-level assistant cook) at the Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai; and taking on more responsibility as a culinary associate (senior-level assistant cook) at Shangri-La Hotel Bombay Convention Centre.

After moving to Saudi Arabia in 2014, Chef Devendra embarked on a new career path as a Chef de Party at the Hamilton House. He also made stops along his culinary journey at restaurants like the Island of Paradise, a Club Med resort in Bali, where he served as an Indian Chef for four years. Along the way, he took part in the pre-opening team of the hotel’s Indian kitchen and helped recreate the Indian dishes.

As the Indian head chef at Grand Hyatt Bali, Chef Devendra will bring his decades of experience to the resort’s bespoke culinary offerings. He’ll be guiding the kitchens, which include in-room and banquet services focusing on authentic Indian cuisine. Chef Devendra joins Grand Hyatt Bali and says, “I’m excited about joining the team. I hope to deliver my passion for the cuisine and the art, and I will try to do my best to give the people the true taste of Indian cuisine.”
