Share:

Bali’s National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) uncovered a Thai-Bali international drug network. The drug was contained in food supplements.

In this narcotics syndicate case, the authorities named 4 suspects. Two people are Indonesian citizens, and two other citizens are Thai citizens.

The disclosure began when joint officers arrested a woman with the initials WW and a man with the initials RJ, who are Thai citizens.

Head of BNNP Bali, Brigadier General Pol Rudy Ahmad Sudrajat, stated that they arrested two Thai citizens on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 8:30 pm at the International Arrival Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

During the examination, said Rudy, suspect WW admitted that the goods would be handed over to the orderers, namely two Indonesian citizens with the initials EP (male) and VRR (female).

From the development of the suspect’s statement, the officer then arrested D. Three days after D’s arrest, the officer then arrested VRR in the premium parking area of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

“This drug network uses the delivery of packages addressed directly to the Villa where the suspect lives,” said Rudy Ahmad Sudrajat, as quoted from Antara.

The four suspects are charged with the death penalty

BNN then named four suspects: WW, RJ, D, and VRR. The four suspects were charged with Article 113 paragraph 2 junction Article 132 paragraph 1 or Article 112 paragraph 2 junction Article 132 paragraph 1 of Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

The criminal penalties in these articles are the death penalty, life imprisonment, or imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years.

The packaging of circulated drug is in the form of fruit-flavored beverage powder.

The examination revealed that fruit-flavoured collagen drink packaging was used to pack Methamphetamine and MDMA powders. The packaging was then placed in boxes and sealed. This powder is used by dissolving it in water or soda drink, then drinking it to cause excessive pleasure.

“The mode is packaged in fruit-flavoured food supplement packaging. Orders are placed via Telegram,” said Rudy.

In the same press conference, BNN Bali also revealed that a foreign national from Latvia named Vladimir S (VS), who was involved in the international narcotics network on the Island of the Gods, came using a visit visa.

“Vladimir, he is actually from another network; he received orders to bring goods to Indonesia. He doesn’t know who will receive it here, but we have secured it first. He also did not know to explain to whom the goods were intended,” said Head of the Bali BNNP Eradication Division Police Commissioner I Made Sinar Subawa at a press conference in Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Based on the results of an examination of his bag, officers found hashish-type narcotics weighing 450.41 grams net and cannabis-type narcotics weighing 977.83 grams net.

According to VS’s confession, Subawa said, hasis narcotics were obtained from Nepal, while marijuana was obtained from Thailand. The hashish and marijuana hid in the perpetrator’s suitcase.

Upon further investigation, the authorities also suspect VS to be a member of a gangster affiliated with an international drug network.
