A Russian Tourist Caused Chaos at a Bali Cafe Due to Displeasure with Staff Treatment

On 20 December 2023, a video surfaced showing @mssoerang capturing a Russian tourist causing chaos at a Bali cafe on CCTV. Upon investigation, it was found that the Russian woman refused to comply when the staff informed her of the need to vacate the cafe within 30 minutes due to an unexpected reservation scheduled for 7 PM local time.

As per @hallo.denpasar’s account, the sequence of events unfolded with the Russian tourist arriving at 6:15 PM local time and placing multiple food orders. Shortly after, the staff requested her to relocate to the outdoor cafe area as they had received a 7 PM reservation and intended to set up a table by 6:45 PM local time.

Nevertheless, the Russian tourist hesitated to leave and objected to what she perceived as the staff’s impoliteness, demanding to speak with the cafe manager in an angry tone.

Shortly afterwards, CCTV footage captured a staff member attempting to relocate the woman’s drink to an outdoor area, provoking her. Subsequently, the woman promptly hurled the plate onto the floor, prompting one of the staff members to react by pushing her.

Numerous individuals expressed regret in the comments section over the cafe’s unprofessional and impolite behaviour towards its visitors. Additionally, the CCTV footage depicts a staff member pushing the Russian tourist, escalating the chaos.

@meisiechi08 commented “If you had a reservation, why not inform her before she sat down? I’d be annoyed too if I were in the Russian tourist’s place. It’s like not feeling appreciated 😢😢.

We need to respond wisely to the situation. The CCTV helps us distinguish right from wrong. Restaurants and cafes should provide announcements and information upfront about reservations or seating arrangements. I echo the sentiments of others.

The foreign tourists in the video have every right to feel upset and emotional due to the lack of communication from the cafe. The Russian tourist had already received her drink when it was abruptly taken away by a staff member. The cafe should handle customer situations calmly. Upholding hospitality is crucial. Maintaining good public relations is vital for our cafe’s image. Let’s act wisely,” commented @ms_dianhandayani.
