The Bali Regional Police have revealed details of the arrest of a 42-year-old Peruvian national, identified as NSBC, who attempted to smuggle 1.4 kilograms of cocaine and 85 ecstasy pills into Bali.
The arrest took place on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, at 23:30 WITA, when the suspect landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Qatar Airways flight QR 960 from Doha.
According to Commissioner Radiant, Director of the Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate, customs officers became suspicious of the suspect’s behaviour upon arrival. X-ray checks revealed suspicious items concealed on her body.
Following a body search, officials discovered narcotics hidden in underwear, a bra, and an adult sex toy.
“The narcotics were hidden in six plastic packages wrapped in black tape inside a green bra, three similar packages in black underwear, and a penis-shaped sex toy containing drugs, which the suspect inserted into her body,” Radiant told reporters, as reported by Antara.
Drug Network and Modus Operandi

The investigation revealed that NSBC was acting as a courier for an international syndicate, having agreed to transport the drugs from Spain to Bali for a fee of Rp320 million. Police said she had been recruited by a compatriot known by the initials PB, who remains on the wanted list.
Radiant explained that NSBC met PB through a dark web forum in April 2025. On 10 August, she was instructed to meet a messenger at Bellvitge Metro Station in Barcelona, where she received packages containing narcotics.
On 11 August, she concealed the cocaine by placing packets in her bra and underwear, and inserting others into an adult toy, which she then concealed internally.
During the body search in Bali, police found 194 grams of cocaine hidden inside the sex toy, 630 grams in underwear, and 608 grams in the bra, alongside ecstasy pills weighing 33 grams. In total, the drugs were valued at approximately Rp10 billion.
NSBC has been charged under Articles 113(2) and 114(2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, which carry penalties ranging from five to 20 years’ imprisonment, fines of up to Rp10 billion, or the death penalty.
Commissioner Radiant confirmed that the suspect was due to be collected by an unidentified individual. “In fact, in the conversation, the suspect said that if she were contacted and did not answer, the relationship would be terminated,” he explained.
International Syndicate Linked to Cocaine Smuggling Case in Bali
Police are continuing to investigate the network and are searching for PB. Officials believe the drugs were likely intended for distribution among foreign nationals in Bali.
Between January and August 2025, Bali Police arrested 10 foreign nationals for drug offences, with cocaine and crystal methamphetamine being the most common.
“Cocaine sells for almost Rp7 million per gram, which is higher than crystal meth at Rp1.8 million. From what we see, the market is mostly from foreigners,” Radiant said.
Customs authorities confirmed that behaviour analysis and flight data are key to identifying suspects.
“The unusual behaviour is what strengthens our investigation into the items carried by the passenger,” said Heri Purwanto, Head of Enforcement and Investigation at Ngurah Rai Customs.
