Ministry of Transportation Investigates An Airport Official Who Invited a Korean Youtuber to the Hotel

Jiah, a well-known South Korean YouTuber, was left in a state of shock when she was approached and invited to a hotel by a man in Manado. She later shared the unsettling details of the incident on her TikTok account @Jiah_4548.

The incident occurred when Jiah was eating, and suddenly, two locals approached her. One of them asked Jiah whether she was broadcasting live, and Jiah replied that she was only recording and not broadcasting live.

Then, the man invited Jiah to his table and eat together, and Jiah joined in. Long story short, they got to know each other. The man said his name was Albert, and his friend was Alex. Jiah then introduced her name.

Then, without further ado, the person immediately invited Jiah to the hotel. “Can I stop by (your) hotel room?”

Jiah immediately looked surprised by the question. She immediately made an excuse and said that she had to leave immediately by boat.

Jiah then shared the unpleasant experience on her TikTok account. Who would have thought the man who teased her was a government employee?

The man is Asri Damuna, the Head of the Sangia Nibandera Airport Operator Unit (UPBU) Office in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has now relieved Asri of his duties to investigate the case. The Ministry of Transportation deeply regrets the viral video involving Asri.

“The person concerned has been relieved of the duty to facilitate further investigation and action,” said Ministry of Transportation Spokesperson Adita Irawati, as reported by CNN Indonesia.

With what she experienced, Jiah is still positive and thinks not all Indonesians are like that.

“I’m sure not all Indonesians are like this, which I think is not polite; I’m really shocked. A new acquaintance asked to stop by the hotel,” said Jiah.

Meanwhile, the government employee accused of flirting with Jiah, Asri, clarified his intention to invite Jiah, the South Korean YouTuber, to the hotel. He admitted that Jiah asked him first where he lived. After that, Asri invited Jiah to stop by.

Asri said the video about his invitation to the hotel had undergone a lot of editing and did not have a complete context.

“After eating, she (Jiah) asked where I was staying. I said I was staying at the hotel opposite the Swiss-Bel, and you could come if you wanted. But the point is that the videos circulating have been edited a lot,” Asri told TVOne.
