A 31-year old Singaporean man, an ex-nurse of one of Singapore’s public hospitals, Sengkang General, was accused of abusing animal, as reported by Utama Villa Tulamben, which made the information public. The resort gave the Singaporean man’s identity and supplied information about his stay on their property.

According to the resort, a six-week-old cat, which belonged to them and was residing in their office premises under the care of their staff, had no unpleasant encounters with the Singaporean man.

On the morning of the  6th of June, the resort discovered the kitten’s body inside a yellow plastic bag with a wire tie around its neck.

“Monkey, our precious six-week-old resort kitten, was unfortunately discovered dead on the 6th of June in a yellow Prime grocery plastic bag, the kitten had been brutally tossed over the resort’s perimeter wall, and a wire tie had been put around her neck, allegedly to strangle her to death. We are horrified by this senseless act of cruelty,” Utama Villa Tulamben remarked in a Facebook post on the 15th of June, 2023. For further context, Prime is a chain of supermarkets in Singapore.

Based on their CCTV video, the report said they saw several suspicious activities involving the 31-year-old Singaporean ex-nurse.

On the 5th of June, after midnight, the Singaporean was seen on CCTV repeatedly attempting to break into their office. After nearly an hour of unsuccessful attempts to get inside and seize the cat, the guest gave up.

The man did, however, manage to capture the kitten that was napping inside the closed office on the morning of the 5th of June at approximately 10.30 am. The office window had been forced open by the Singaporean guest.

After taking the ginger-white cat from the office and heading towards his room, the man was seen on video cradling the kitten.

On the morning of the 6th of June, the resort discovered the kitten’s body close to the Singaporean guest’s room, on the opposite side of the boundary wall. Despite not having a video of him murdering the cat, the resort’s CCTV system recorded suspicious activity on the 5th of June, just minutes after the man had taken the kitten from their office,
